I finally watched this film, with a bit of nostalgia, thinking all the way long of our friend Neal and others who where active on these Greener Pastures.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas, despite the particular circumastances.
Stay safe!

Those of us who drink champagne on a daily basis have to find another way of celebrating... like opening a slightly better year ;)

Anyway, it's a bit scary to watch, to be honest. The country appears to be more divided than ever.

I can imagine Steve  probably opened a bottle or maybe two of champagne after Biden had been declared a winner according to election results. I wonder how things will play out since Trump refuses  to concede and basically attempting a legal coup by invalidating election results or find other legal loophole in that antidemocratic american electoral system  to remain in White House after  January 20. Republicans pushed hard to stack the Supreme Court.

You know It is 2020 anything could happened.

That's one small step for man...
I hope the other nations will take a closer look at their leaders too...
I will wait with my bottle of wine until... you know...  :-\

I fully agree. Good luck to all of us.

Yesterday, around 6 pm CET, I got a lot of messages from friends all over the world on my smartphone.
Finally a good news! In France, where I am living at the moment, we usually open a bottle of champagne for big occasion. We, however, preferred to have a glass of good red wine to the honor of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
How do you celebrate in your country blissful events like this?

I just read that in China they started to vaccine health personnel. Why not?

We were asked if we are interested in being vaccined against the flu before this autumn... for free...
Such a generosity of our management never happened before... and I think that it will appear that 'for free' doesn't apply to everybody  ;-)
It's nice step anyway... though most of our staff with medium education level disagree with the vaccination programme.

And the lower education level staff even doesn't believe in the existence of covid. My friend says  'Someone has to be eliminated in the process of natural selection...' But I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. Those who care will be eliminated by the careless people's unconcern. Those who not care usually survive (maybe because they are in majority).

Same situation where I live. Free vaccines against seasonal flu are offered in practically all the public institutions and big companies since ages. I think it’s a good idea.
The worst anti-vaccine people are certains nurses, some of them truly believe that vaccines cause autism and other obscure psychiatric problems. So they refuse to be vaccinated against seasonal flu and in the name of personal liberties are against obligatory vaccines for children.

I think they're almost there. I just hope Russia stays out of it.

If I would be Svetlana Tikhanovskaïa, leader of the opposition, I wouldn’t drink tea. See what happened to Poutin’s opponent Navalny.

It would make sense to vaccinate those who are most likely to contract it. Little by little, I mean, keep them off work for a while in case they developed the disease as a result of being vaccinated. I would consider trying it on staff who work in care homes as well.
