Pasha,
Military base, aircraft carrier and submarines are dangerous place where Covid likely spread. Looking at the wars history, it is said that soldiers died from sickness more than death in the battle.

To reply to SHL's question "how long this corona virus thing will last?" I think it will last pretty long. I have two reasons. First, I thought Covid-19 looks like influenza, but now I have to say it is worse than it.  Covid-19 spreads all the year not like that Influenza annoys us in only winter. Second, you might say it is lucky that death rate is lower than Ebola bleeding, but people not dying means that the virus stay alive longer in human's body. It is lucky for virus too. It even evolves not to be beaten.

Take a trip to Alabama? My god, what a depressing thought, Pasha.

Steve, that was a joke ;D.

Speaking seriously, What about  Hawaii? Have you ever been to Hawaii? Thousands kilometers of ocean around, isn't that amazing? Thousands kilometers from mainland US. Almost like Iceland just warmer. Covids cases relatively low there. Although I've heard Hawaii is a  basically big US military base and everyone there are in the military. I don't know is that good thing or bad, but I can bet it is on the Russian and Chinese ICBMs target list. Another thing, Hawaii Islands are  tops of giant volcanoes and sleeping on top of a volcano might be challenging.

It might last forever like AIDS.  Antibodies last only few months so if vaccine developed  you are going to need multiple shots to stay protected. But things aren't that terrible.  It looks like some East Asian countries got it under control even without lockdowns. As long as government  takes virus seriously and not acting macho it can be taken under control.

Yeah Pasha, but look who we’ve got as a President?  We call him the “Orange Man” in the White House. What a disaster. And he says he’s got “a stable intelligence”, whatever that is supposed to mean. And he keeps telling everybody we’re developing a vaccine and and it’s going to be “fantastic” because he knows and he’s “smart.” My god, you’re lucky you don’t live here. For him it’s all about being re-elected. Out here, on the West Coast, (California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington) no one is voting for him. We’re about 100% Democrat so he feels free to send in his goon squad federal police into our cities, even when our governors and majors say they don’t want them in here, to put down protesters, like he’s some kind of fascist dictator. What a mess. He only sends his fascist federal police into liberal West Coast cities because he knows he has no chance of winning there out here anyway. 3 more months till the elections and then we can get someone in to replace the Orange Man. Hopefully.

I did hear that a corona vaccine would only last so long and have to be repeated. Let’s hope it’s not like an HIV vaccine, which will never happen, unfortunately. I recall back in 1984 they said they’d probably have an HIV vaccine in 2 years. Yeah right. Look how that turned out.

But, they have to do something about Corona, because it’s messing up everyone everywhere.

"Stable intelligence" means you can repeat five words: "person, woman, man, camera, TV". Can you do that? He can.
Recently, It looks like he is kinda  changing his approach. He now supports  face masks so it might stop being a political issue. Face mask is a political issue can you imagine that? Anyway it is still better late than never, it is probably late for his reelection campaign though, even Fox polls spell doom for his reelection chances. Texas is now a battleground state. Unless  covid magically disappear you know "like miracle it will disappear" and millions of unemployed people magically become employed and be able to pay their rent/mortgage there is no way  he is  going to win the election.

Until US get this under control you still can enjoy trip to Great State of Alabama.

Take a trip to Alabama? My god, what a depressing thought, Pasha.

Actually, it wasn’t the words “stable intelligence” that Trump used to describe himself, but a “stable genius”, I think because he passed a test to see if he could count from 100 to 70 backwards. Quite an accomplishment.

The Orange Man said as to face masks, “If you want to wear one, that’s fine. I have nothing against face masks. But, if you don’t want to wear one that should be ok too.” Brillant statement.

Yes, he knows his popularity is waning due to how badly he botched up the corona virus thing, and the stupidity he showed in handling it. Worse yet, is the impact on the economy. The travel industry is dead, since no one has any place to go, except like you said, to places like Alabama, which no one would want to go to unless they smoked too much marijuana  (which is legal in California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington by the way for recreational purposes, far better than in Holland, and several other States too. You just order as much of it online as you want and they deliver it to your house in an hour. It’s expensive, but potent and lasts a long time- at least it gets your mind off this mess and off the Orange Man).

And, the rest of the economy is in a mess. Closed bars and restaurants. Closed beaches. Just like in Europe, only worse. And if the kids are going back to school, who knows? The Universities are all going remote, online. But, unemployment is rising fast, and we’re not getting much in government help. We did get 1,500$ from the government, or $1200 I forgot, but that was months ago, and they are supposed to give us another check, but who knows when that’s coming in. It’s supposed to be soon.

I’m glad I’m not dependent on working for someone because I’d probably be laid off and on unemployment benefits (a lousy 600$ a week). So, yeah, things are looking grim. Hopefully when we get someone in the White House other than the Orange Man things will get better. Then maybe we can get the corona statistics down to reasonable levels and the EU will let us back in.

Nikola, toilet paper? You mean don’t like Angela Davis? Oh no. Gosh, she’s got speeches all over Youtube and people love her out in California, probably because she used to be a University Professor out here in Santa Cruz, and was for years.  And a lot of folks flock to her lectures.  :)
Oh, I forgot that only nice people get their speeches posted on YouTube. Silly me. Well, being such a people-loving person she supposedly is, I'm sure she wouldn't mind about the toilet paper, if it helped people ;)

Nikola, how can you bad mouth someone with a mind like Angela Davis‘? A visionary like that? Well, I’ve watched her interviewed a lot on this American TV news station, Democracy Now! , and they love her over there. They put her pearls of wisdom on YouTube all the time. And they call her “Dr. Davis”, because she got a doctoral degree from an East Berlin University back in the old days. And, when the USSR was still around, I think they gave her the “Lenin Peace Prize” in Moscow,  which she keeps proudly on her wall at the University. (She retired with the highest honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz, but still has an office there.) I always wondered what kind of “peace” Lenin ever brought to the world?  Oh well.

I recall posting a video clip of hers where she said if she thought the world was doomed to live forever under capitalism she didn’t know how she could keep going on. Well, somehow she’s struggled through the horrors of capitalism  :)

Oh sugar. A beer flood would have been even worse for Czechs, though. That would call for a national mourning day.

Look, I don't know why it thinks you're a robot. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm not aware of any settings that would cause this. It might be just temporary while you're a newbie. There might be a chapter about it in the 300-page manual we sent you as part of our welcome pack along with cozy socks, "I heart EGP" fridge magnet and the autobiography of Angela Davis that doubles up as toilet paper in these uneasy times. If you have any other problems, do not hesitate to contact us.
