If there are beautiful languages, then there must be ugly ones as well, right? So, what would be an ugly language?
That's right! That's what I'm thinking! I don't know who said French was the most beautiful language at first.
I heard that there was some trend of speaking French in the noble fashionable society when France was the strongest country. Probably it was around Elizabeth1 in England in 16c to French Revolution. I'm not sure but historically I heard many cultures from France was welcomed as noble in that time. The language, too.
To people who live at edge of the world,in Japan, such a historical trend didn't influence. Of course, Japanese love French cuisine and fashion now, but the foreign language which affected Japanese society was Dutch and Portuguese except for Asians like Chinese. They were first foreigners from Europe who came to Japan for the first time in 16c. Not French or British or American.
So, the idea that French is the most beautiful language does not make sense to me.
Then I wanted to know your ideas.
άλφα, Alharacas, KingS. Thank you for joining in French. It's effective to make atmosphere exotic. It matches this thread. I like it a lot!
Some might say that French nasal sounds is beautiful but it sounds like that all French people have cold to me.
