Even Greener Pastures

The LA one is not "Holmes", they are not at 221B Baker Street with Watson.  It is "Homes", like Homie, or Home boy.

Nah, they say “Holmes”, at least that’s what is sounds like in Oakland, in the SF Bay Area, to me anyway. Of course, I’m too sophisticated to talk like that myself,  so I don’t pay too much attention. But, you are probably right. Homes, is more like Homey, or like you are from the hood.
