Even Greener Pastures

As some of you may have noticed, I tend to lean towards colorful words and phrases in my writing. In everyday life it's the same, for example, I'm rarely merely hungry or famished or empty or ravenous or starving. No, I'm usually so hungry that I could eat the bottom out of a bird cage. What colloquial phrase do you have to convey that you're so hungry that you could eat a bowl of maggots 

I was hungry enough to eat a horse, then I read the OP.  Now I want to throw up.

Dogs eat their vomit. Chew on that little factoid for a while.

My favorite factoid is:  "All odors are particulates".

My dad used to say that his big guts were eating his little guts.

OK, if you insist on talking about gross stuff, we also say:

Mám žízeň, že bych vypil mrtvýmu oko = I am so thirsty I would drink a dead man's eye.
